Transport me back…

…to this early summer wedding off the rugged shores of Midcoast Maine.

I want to revisit those live bluegrass chords, homemade whoopie pies and that east coast cotton candy sunset. While I can’t travel back in time, I have the photographs to stir my memories.

These two. Ray ran diagnostics on his and Lesley’s text conversations pre-ceremony, and discovered that the most commonly used word between them was “haha”. When he professed this in his vows, I felt like I was a cameraman on the set of a Big Bang Theory episode. That, folks, makes my nerd heart sing.

Familiarizing myself with my clients beforehand is important (hello, documentary photographer). So I poked around on their wedding website (I love this idea for wedding guests, btw, and here’s a great place to start if you’re interested). Their ‘about me’ page was a collage of iconic duets (i.e. Bert and Ernie, Riff Raff and Magenta, Newman and Kramer). Lesley said that this was Ray’s doing, and it confirmed a simple truth for me.

He makes her laugh.

And in a world filled with so much unknown and darkness, what more could one ask for?
