30 Day Blog Challenge, Day 8: Frozen Berries

Do you remember the ice storm of ’08?  Amazing what Mother Nature is capable of doing…I recall driving through Dover-Somersworth the night following the storm, and it was pitch black.  When was the last time you drove through the city at night and didn’t see everything lit up?  I’d never seen anything like it.  People were in a panic.  There were lines at every gas station, stocking up their supplies as everyone anticipated for what could be the worst power outage in a long time {and they were right}.  Mad dashes for generators…food supply.  Inches of ice coated everything in sight.  Power lines down.  Huge tree limbs snapped like string beans.  Aid came from hundreds of miles in every direction to assist in damage control.

Me?

I was driving around with my camera, enjoying the devastating beauty of what was one of the worst storms in New England history.  This photo was taken in North Berwick with my Canon all-in-one.  I just love the vibrant colors of the berries, and the visual appeal of the thick layer of ice coating them.  What a storm it was, indeed.
