TEIA Club – Peaks Island, Maine Coastal Wedding

An Eclectic Island Wedding – Casual, Unique, True

This Maine coastal fall wedding was nothing short of gorgeous colors and love.  Taken place at the TEIA Club on Peaks Island, Maine, you’ll fall in love with the rich Atlantic sunset that was bestowed upon us, along with all the details of this beautiful day.  Although I’m sure you’re going to pretty much fall in love with all the yellow highlights and DIY favors that Dan and Sarah whipped up for their guests, I think you’re actually going to appreciate the love and laughter that encompassed this beautiful marriage even more so.  I love my job, I really do… I love documenting not only the major ‘firsts’ that come with a wedding, but all those tiny passing moments between loved ones that truly make a day of gathering complete.   I truly get to embark on a journey with couples; I get to witness all the support they have from loved ones, and the love that the couple have for each other.  I get to be a personal historian for couples (and families), a mighty duty that I so humbly accept.

A few of my favorite details from this gorgeous autumn day:

Boss Lady (aka Bride) with the Golf Cart

Sarah toted me and a handful of girls to the ceremony in a golf cart. like. a. boss.

Wedding Dress

Sarah found her dress on Etsy, a basic strapless.  What made this dress so beautiful and unique were the custom embellishments… YES!  Custom additions!!!  Mom of the maid-of-honor adorned the dress with handmade embroidered lace.  STUNNING is an understatement.  If you have an amazing seamstress in your life, hold them tight.

The Yellow Flare

I can’t tell you how much yellow I saw in weddings this year… seriously falling in love with yellow all over again.  I think I may actually make a separate post about it…

Bridesmaid Losing Her Shoe off the Dock (And Groomsman Paddles Out to Save the Day)

Hey, I’m an adventurist, and my clients know it.  We venture when time permits (we also take all cautions necessary; safety first, even on adventures!).  This scene played out with a happy ending, which you’ll see in the highlights below.

The Personal Wedding Vows

I’m not a videographer, but sometimes I wish I were… Ugh, sometimes I don’t think my little heart can handle all the romantic love that goes down with these, and I don’t even care how cliché that sounds.

The Favors

Handmade pickles by the bride!  STAHP!!  Are you kidding me?!?!  If you know me, you know I’m a HUGE advocate of growing your own food and investing in your local farmer.  I made my own dill pickles from my CSA through Two Toad Farm this year, and though they turned out a bit sweeter than I had aimed for, they are delicious!   I took a hiatus from my own veggie garden this season, and it darn near broke my heart.

The Fugifilm Instax

I’m seeing these pop up at receptions… these babies are circulating like cray cray on the wedding circuit.

The Amazing Sunset

We were blessed with some amazing New England weather, along with a gorgeous sunset finale.  Luckily these two lovebirds were willing to embark on a few landscape images that captured not only the beautiful scenery, but the essence of their love for each other.

And now, on to the highlights of this fun and authentic Maine wedding!
