Wagon Hill.  Pretty much one of the greatest spots on the Seacoast for family outdoor fun.  It’s a 139-acre farm owned by the town of Durham, NH.  It’s so dreamy because it’s super dog friendly, wickedly kid friendly, has lots of trails and even has a shoreline overlooking the Great Bay.  It’s a haven for on location photographers like me.  It gives me a great chance for natural lighting, and allows the kids to burn some energy after nabbing a few posed portraits at the beginning.

The S family and I paid a visit to the farm this fall and enjoyed a casual lifestyle family session.  We played on the wagon, raced after airplanes and got some really great images.  The modern approach that I take has so many advantages.  The typical adult does not generally enjoy posing for portraits, let alone children.  This method encourages kids (and adults!) to relax and express themselves freely.  It’s amazing how cooperative little ones (ummm and again, adults!) can be once a level of trust is founded.
